Hadn’t seen this in a while, and it’s still as good as the first time I watched it. I love this movie so so so so so much. Not a single dull moment: the music hits, the songs hit, the everything about it hits. Probably one of my favourite movie romances of all time, and definitely one of my favourite movie musicals of all time.
Also they’re making this into a Broadway musical apparently and that ticks me off. The beauty and heart of La La Land is that it’s an ode to MOVIE musicals; putting that on the stage misses that point completely, losing any and all of what made it magical. I’m curious to see how they’ll transfer the big Highway opening number to a stage, or Mia and Sebastian dancing against the purple setting sun at Kathy’s Corner, the planetarium dance number… Just make the Barbie movies into musicals already please and thank you!
