We have been absolutely FED with animated films this year. One of the best of the year and I am wrecked writing this through my tears. Normally, I’d say this much narration and voice over would be a cop out but the way that Sarah Snook delivers such an emotionally raw performance while still balancing some comedy really fits the entire aesthetic.
And the animation style… I’m awestruck. I am not an expert on animation by any means but I can only imagine the painstaking measures that had to happen to get this inventive stop motion so seamless. There is not one thing wrong with this film, to the score, to the voice work, the detail, everything about it is perfect.
