Like the first part, Ralph Breaks The Internet (the German title is simply "Chaos im Netz"-Chaos in the web) once again manages the balancing act between family-friendly entertainment and nerdy humor. The topic of friendship is omnipresent and was a bit too flat for me personally.

However, there is also an unexpectedly objective look at the infinite vastness of the Internet. That's the movie's true strength. The great aspects are shown and how much fun the incredible possibilities offer. At the same time, however, it is taught that you have to be careful on the web at all times, as the negative sides are not concealed. Pop-ups, spam, hate comments and even the darknet are discussed.

I had the feeling that the Internet, apart from sexual content, is shown quite comprehensively and realistically. After all, the main target group is children and it was sometimes quite complex. Google, Ebay, Disney-all these companies and more are named, but in my opinion not instrumentalized to explicitly advertise them. These pages are a part of the internet and it would have been really foolish to make this movie with fantasy equivalents.

The advantage is that it also creates a very self-ironic metahumor. The scene in Disney Castle with the Princesses is hilariously funny!

The animations are great, smooth and I have the feeling that all Easter Eggs can only be captured after multiple viewing.

I liked it slightly better than its predecessor. That's mainly because I understood more allusions. I'm just not the biggest gamer, but the Internet fascinates me, as do Ralph and Vannelope.

The Oscar nomination was obvious. But I'd bet a lot of money that Ralph wouldn't win. The competition is too strong for that.
