The way Marvel fans lost their shit when all the Avengers assembled in Endgame is somewhat similar to the way I react when Sy Ableman shows up in this.

The Social Network 2010
Avoid this movie. There are historical inaccuracies all the way through. It's well made but this apparently is loosely based on The Accidental Billionaires which the bits Fincher and Sorkin took are widely DEBUNKED. It showcases Fincher doesn't care for history, Mark Zuckerberg, and that he has a total obsession with artistic interpretation. Movies should NOT have any artistic freedom of history and should completely follow everything the way reality did. Erica Albright isn't even a real fucking person. How…

The Lighthouse 2019
#Cannes2019
Saw this at its official world premiere with the lads Robert Eggers, Robert Pattinson, and Willem Dafoe in attendance!! I know that I have a lot of other Cannes reviews to catch up on, but I feel as though I need to prioritize this one the most, since many of you all may have been anticipating this film as much as I have.
Hands down the best new film that I've seen at Cannes on my trip easily, and…

The Fabelmans 2022
Trying to comprehend your childhood and adolescence through a lens of regret and sadness but also a humbling sense of joy. It all leads to the core of your being. It’s very heartbreaking but also way funnier than I expected. Genuinely crowd pleasing in the best possibly way, especially when young Spielberg screens his beach movie at prom… epic, epic shit and one of the more fascinating sequences Spielberg’s ever done. He’s touched on a lot of what we see…

Dr. T & the Women 2000
Call me a vulgar auteurist I don't care cause this was some serious kino. Think UNCUT GEMS or A SERIOUS MAN but about a gynecologist who's slowly losing control over the women in his life as he realizes he does not understand them. This picture gets super chaotic and I was losing my mind. There are some maybe not so good scenes that make me think this deserves a 4.5/5 but dang this was too much of an experience. Dr. T is one crazy fella.

I Know This Much Is True 2020
If someone were to ask me what the most depressing piece of cinema I have ever watched was, I would probably give Derek Cianfrance's I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE as my answer. Out of context, so many scenes feel like misery porn and torture on the audience, but no this isn't Lars Von Trier (at least from what I've encountered from LVT thus far). Cianfrance in my eyes approaches this tough subject matter better than almost any modern filmmaker…

Venom: Let There Be Carnage 2021
Went for the 9:00 showtime. Sold out. Tried to get tickets for the 9:30 showtime. Sold out. Had to do 10:00. Ticket clerk at the theatre said the lineups are the busiest they've been in a very long time and because we require vaccine passports in Ontario some folks even got vaxxed just so they could reach Venom 2. Andy Serkis is saving cinema and lives.
