Unrelentingly bleak and oh so matter of fact in its form. Lynne Littman's Testament is a special film about the most dreadful thing in the world, a nuclear holocaust, in large part because it is told in such a restrained manner. There's a scene in a bathroom sink that just destroyed me, but Littman hardly ever lingers on the enormous pain and trauma inflicted on these people. We're just shown what would most likely happen under these circumstances, and the answer is absolutely awful.
