FILM STUDIES NEW FILM LETS GOOOOO I ❤️ THIS FILM

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This film made me cry a grand total of 5 times omg I knew next to nothing about Robbie Williams going into this and watched it with my friend who happens to be the biggest Robbie Williams fan I know😭
That man is so inspiring as someone who has been through similar things (obviously nowhere near the same scale) but aspects felt raw, deep and relatable.
The cinematography was stunning and the ‘Rock DJ’ scene blew me away with the impressive choreography. The final performance with his Dad sent me over the edge as a fellow child with an estranged relationship with her Dad 💔

First film of the year!! We started watching it and paused for the New Years London celebration and then finished it. My Mum loved this and I rambled on about how Neil killing himself because he can’t be himself can actually be seen as an allegory of queerness and how hiding that fact away from the world can be so damaging to a person and drive them to suicide.
The worst part in terms of sadness for me is hearing Neil’s mother screaming ‘he’s alright!’ because she’s in denial about losing her son 💔💔💔

Introduced my Mum to this film today and she loved it and that makes me SO HAPPY !!
-
Cute lil film but Will Ferrel gets on my nerves sometimes LOL
-
Childhood favourite, every year we watch this at Christmas time. Why? I don’t know apparently when my parents were children it used to be a thing a lot of people did😭
-
I miss when Christmas films had colour and a maximalist aesthetic so much😫
-
ugh this series hits so good, alaska girl i understand you.
-
THE BEST CHRISTMAS FILM EVER MADE I DO NOTTTT PLAY ABOUT MY MUPPETS BRO
-
Paddington is such a comfort trilogy for me, I grew up watching the old show on my Mum’s VHS player and the newer films when they came out on DVD with my family and have continued to do so, so it will always have a special place in my heart❤️

Never watching ts again. It’s really good but jesus christ is it depressing/traumatising.
