the blue of the water and the sky and everything else is so stunning and my new favourite thing… blue in curtains and a ceiling fan and a blanket… brilliant… having seen aftersun before this even though it came out after i couldn’t help but think of aftersun when seeing the cinematography here. absolutely incredible. i love when movies look like this. need a list to go through. genuinely think the blue of the water is my new favourite colour. i’m such a sucker for good water shots i even have a tag here just for that. growing up beside lake superior did a real number on me.
i always love a war movie and while this was not the typical guns & trenches i still love all kinds of war movies and having watched 3 vietnam war movies last week this was a fun change. really love the themes it deals with and how it deals with them. need to watch more war movies that are directed by women. of course my life is nothing like this but jealousy is such a universal feeling that i couldn’t help but relate the tiniest bit to galoup’s jealousy. especially him throwing his jacket in frustration after sentain was recognized for his heroism. teehee also was proud of my limited french knowledge for allowing me to translate beau travail☺️ good work. good work to me too for that. and i tried looking up the name galoup for meaning but it cant be a coincidence that loup means wolf right. idk. can’t wait to spend all evening reading about this. and i love that end dance scene. new fave thanks kay
