    Very early Tom Hanks is very wholesome. John Candy was hilarious. Story was alright, very basic fish out of water romcom.

    There is character development, and then there is Dragon’s character progression. He really rubs you the wrong way from the start, but he gradually tears it all down, and you are suddenly caring for him and his selfless acts. Great acting all around.

    This is such a nothing film. I get it’s Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut, but give us something. Her segment of the film was the most interesting, very unnerving, however the side character lady went absolutely nowhere. Also, the intermittent ‘backstory’ felt more like filler to pad the runtime, even though it still ended rather abruptly. I wish she did more with the story, it was just a The Dating Game film at the end of the day.

    As soon as all the pieces came together, the film got into another gear and became amazing. It was easy enough to wrap your head around, so it wasn’t just a hastily thrown together storyline. Dylan O’Brien was great, as well as the other actors pretty much. Go into the film knowing nothing, and you’ll have an absolute blast.
