While comparisons to The Silence of the Lambs are certainly apt, Longlegs isn't a like-for-like replica. Rather, it lands somewhere in the middle of the spectrum between Demme's serial killer procedural and Prior's take on urban myth in The Empty Man. In this way it felt most similar to Kurosawa's masterpiece Cure and the amazing yet underseen Angel Dust. Great company to keep.
