Pivoting away from your iconic slasher villain is already a bold move. Pivoting to become a paranoid conspiracy thriller that includes, among other things: an enclave of Irish witches camped out in California, a legion of murderous androids, and a stolen piece of Stonehenge is madness. Does it work? Sometimes. Is it good? Maybe. Is it fascinating? Absolutely. Also one of the all-time downer endings in horror, god damn.
