I wanted to make Aliens my 250th watch but, when an opportunity presents itself to see this on your birthday, you take it.
Fede Alvarez definitely amped up the horror aspect on this one. He was allowed to cook with IP in space. Thats exactly what he did. I could do without the first 5 minutes of this movie. However, the rest of the of the movie is perfect. The cinematography, all the different colors (especially the blues), the MUSIC, and of course the acting. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone radiate magic together. Much like those “dream” sequences. They anchor this whole movie. I don’t think a supporting character has more than 10 minutes of screen time. Emma is in her bag and won the Oscar (deservedly so).…

This movie was a lot of fun. Easily paced, funny dialogue, a messy lovable lead. Zoey Deutch rules.

400 films in 2024, I had to take some time off. I will not be reaching 400 for a while. In the past week I’ve watched 2 full seasons of TV. Fallout and The Penguin. Both really enjoyable in their own ways. Next, I will be starting Shogun. I had to come back to my roots for the first film of the year.

It’s a sweeping epic that holds up to its Best Picture win. Every battle scene is done exceptionally. Hans Zimmer is on point with the score. It’s firing on all cylinders. I’m ready for #2!
