    Skyfall is a solid Bond film, but I find it slightly overrated. It frustrates me that this seems to be the one Bond movie that everyone has seen, as if it’s the definitive entry in the series.

    That said, it’s undeniably well-paced, hitting all the right beats for a Bond blockbuster, with sharp editing (looking at you, Quantum) and a welcome return to classic elements like Q, Moneypenny, and the use of gadgets.

    More of an epilogue or a fourth act to Casino Royale than a standalone film. It features some stunning cinematography, but the fast-cut editing often ruins the action, making it disorienting. Mr. White steals the show in his brief appearances—his opening interrogation scene, where he boasts, “We have people everywhere,” and the opera sequence, where he remains the only calm Quantum agent, are the film’s best moments.     Solid movie overall. Unfortunately, all of the major action set pieces were shown in the trailers, which took away some of the excitement. The reshoots were also pretty obvious—especially with Giancarlo Esposito, who was clearly added later and didn’t get as much screen time as the rest of the cast.
