Hey everyone! Just providing a little bit of a life update for y’all, once again using a movie that I have not seen. 😂 Anyway, first things first, I’m battling a bit of a cold and because of that as well as a glitch with the Letterboxd app where it erases a review in progress and leaves it blank, I had to make my Little Mermaid review a rate-only review (the short consensus is that, like most modern Disney remakes, it’s entertaining in most parts but still unnecessary and unremarkable overall). However, no cold can keep me from getting started with the shortlist of movies that’ll part of this year’s Tales From the Cinematic Crypt and as I’m gathering the titles, I realized that the lineup might be too big to start on 9/25 so it’s back on the original date of this coming Monday, September 18th.

So far, I’ve found lots of interesting selections off of Netflix, Prime Video and Max with more combing around to come as I find more titles for this year’s official lineup (which will be unveiled this week) and the stuff that I’ve found run the gamut of funny, scary, international, campy, bloody, all the things every growing boy needs. Also, its family friendly companion “Family Fright Night” is also still happening and I’ll look through the preferred streaming services for the new titles in that lineup and yes, it’s every Friday during the main marathon. 

Meanwhile, I’m still trying to play catch up with this year’s movies that I didn’t get to see on the big screen. It’s going to be a long while before I see Oppenheimer but everything else, there’s always streamers and torrents, my go-tos whenever I feel the need to see a movie that I missed in the theater. In fact, I’m adding Barbie to the Plex server later. I’m not waiting for Max to date it and place it on their platform. 

So yeah, that’s what’s been happening in my neck of the woods. It’s not much except for the cold part but that’s the way it is. Hopefully, you guys are doing alright wherever you are, wherever you’re at and to the striking writers and actors, I’m sending you good thoughts and positive vibes, especially since it’s such a hard fight. Remember, the Cinematic Crypt lineup and title reveal are this week and the official marathon will start on 9/18 so mark your calendars.
