Shoojit sircar debut film is very impressive!!

-
how to slay in your debut directing: shoojit sircar.
-
The most definite Kashmir movie, maybe?
-
watch it twice before and still adoring this gem cause it's one of first bolly movies I've watched, this showing the real side of violence in way, in other side of how their love is too like a love song, Jimmy is a gem and he's one of best actors in his generation and god knows how i hate use “underrated” word but unfortunately yes he's, minissha in her introducing is good and looks so soft and wanted to see katrina to watch her kashmiri origins (if you don't know she was narrated) but still minissha kinda better across her acting in her first times, I'm soabing at the album, nothing bad I've seen by shoojit!!

The cinematography is absolutely stunning. The visuals of Kashmir are beautifully captured, and the serene yet volatile landscape becomes a character in itself. The music, especially the soulful tracks, adds to the atmosphere, enhancing the emotional depth of the film.
However, the movie falters in terms of its pacing and storytelling. The plot, while promising, often feels too slow, and the romance, though heartfelt, lacks the necessary depth to make the audience emotionally invested. There’s an attempt to blend politics with personal stories, but it doesn’t quite succeed in creating a compelling narrative. The film’s characters, particularly the leads, sometimes feel underdeveloped, leaving the viewer with little emotional attachment to their journey.
In conclusion, debut film thi yaar chaltay.

While being fully aware that I am writing about this movie in hindsight, but that alone is the testament of how much this movie has stayed with me. I felt that I needed to see this movie, given the current political climate and the abrogation of special status to the State that is by all means contentious, sure. But also a State that is inherently so beautiful.
Yahaan, is the kind of movie you might watch if you want a real peek into the household of regular Kashmiris with a LOT of idealism thrown in. This film dives into a complex love story between a soldier in the Indian army and a local girl, set in Srinagar. The film does…

Sometimes melodrama can done by without exaggerating, and this is a major example of that. A tale of love set on a controversial politics.

Politics of the movie baffles me. Pretty mehhh.
Honestly, I would have liked to see more of the romance, that's the only reason I began watching it.
Can see some of the daring of a fledgling Shoojit Sircar though.
But still, does justice to nothing
The music though. Naam Ada likhna is like one of my fav songs ever.
