The bird talks like Anna Faris trying to remember names in THE HOUSE BUNNY
-
TUESDAY is a tonal disaster where bold risks are taken but not everything works out. In fact, barely anything works out. Even Julia Louis-Dreyfus couldn’t even save this for me. Maybe it works better if you’re a parent? A baffling screenplay, with horrendous dialogue, inconsistent CGI and a lot of unnecessary grunting. Find a better way to cope with death. No thanks.

Julia might feel like a slob,
Pretending like she has a job.
She hadn't heard,
Death from a bird,
Is something that's really macaw-bre.
-
The way we face death is a very sensitive subject. Understanding the importance of this entity can define our life and the afterlife of those we love. This is a beautiful and weird film that made me reflect on many things. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is definitely one of a kind.

I hope when death comes for me, we also get high together before I go.
This had a big ole mix of moments I enjoyed/made me tear up and moments/ideas that...didn't quite work for me. But all in all, I'm glad in a world with a lot of easy remakes and franchises, a weird little movie like this got made.

A film about facing death, & how people deal with it differently. It also addresses grief & grieving…
Everything is represented with humor & honesty, visual imagery, & story symbolism.
I absolutely loved it, & even teared up a bit towards the end (a rarity).
And, I will never look at macaws the same again!

[A24 Ranked]
A24 has had a pretty mediocre year, hasn’t it? Sheesh. I’ve yet to see some of the heavy hitters so I guess I shouldn’t talk much, but from what I’ve seen so far it’s been a bit disappointing if I’m being honest. Tuesday provides a somewhat unique look on death and the acceptance of it, even if it leaned more towards spectacle than saying anything new or of major importance overall. Major points for the usage of “It Was a Good Day.” I laughed pretty hard when Death called it a classic. He’s got good taste. While some of the comedy did tickle my funny bone, I thought the tone of the film was definitely uneven at times.…

Tuesday is a fascinating movie. It could have been quite good if it weren't so full of so many unforced errors. Just a swath of "WTF are you guys even doing" content. Things that maybe worked in print but just came across as misguided on screen.
The flick is about a sick teenage girl who is having suicidal thoughts. So Death shows up... in the form of a dirty, ratty old multi-sized parrot with the voice of Caesar from Planet of the Apes. They have a dialog... and they listen to hip-hop... and vape. Meanwhile, the girl's mom (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is trying hard to not deal with the situation.
Based on the second half of this film, I liked where…

Let's take The Seventh Seal and turn it into a buddy film!
Said no one ever...
Remember how crazy and all over the place the tone and plot from White Noise was? If you hated that, you will hate this perhaps even more. The story shifts in jarring and inconsistent ways, and it doesn't feel like there's a cohesive whole. Tuesday relies heavily on tropes, and it's very predictable - signs that the film didn't take big enough risks.
Also, I was constantly reminded of storylines from the tv series, Supernatural.
Tuesday is not as profound as it thinks it is. Death is not treated seriously here. The themes are very surface level, and it doesn't put much effort into exploring death…
