Two hours of a disjointed story, that can be summed up in two sentences. Leads acting was great, but butchered by the flow and any organisation of thought and tone.
-
Decent supernatural horror with great performances and minimal yet effective score. The story in this is simply fantastic and it really takes you on an emotional ride as it reaches its end. The only thing that keeps me from giving this a higher rating is the slow pace. Seriously though, the long unnecessary pauses between every dialogue and the slow talking kill me slowly and painfully. Some work effectively and create good tension since the score is minimal, but I think most of them are very unnecessary. That said, it's still a good watch and I'd recommend it.

This gave me some The Sixth Sense vibes. Atmospheric with some creepy ghosts appearing periodically. Minimal score gave it an extra eerieness. Well acted by all with Michelle Krusiec carrying this film in the lead role. She was vulnerable, scared, caring, and strong. They Live In The Grey was at times overly dramatic and the two hour runtime made it way more tedious than it needed to be. I'd still say it was a decent watch otherwise.

Boring; curious; overlong; slow; twisty; unscary; well-shot.

It had a very strong beginning but became repetitive and too long for no valid reason. Nicely shot with decent performances but again too long. Worth watching on a rainy day.

Finally my 1,700th film logged.
And according to Murphy's Law...
What else would it be? but yet another grief stricken work of the formerly scary horror, now bleeding-edge, contemporary genre that allegedly once dished out thrills with cliches and jump-scares alike. What else, but yet another strangely marquee'd exploration of trauma that only goes about skin deep?
The extremely necessary grief narrative of
I Spit on Your Grey plays out in your typical parent loses a child, child swap cliché method; without a Damien, however, the film struggles for any tension. So what other genre storytelling cliche can compensate, but the Screw that Turns? Our grief stricken hero is an alleged medium and CPS worker, trying to prevent the relocation…

A woman with a recently deceased son tries to help a family suffering abuse at the hands of a ghost.
This one reminded me a lot of The Sixth Sense, not just because it's about a woman who sees dead people but the look and tone of the movie a very similar as well. The cast is solid and the ghosts are often creepy which makes for a solid feature.
Academy Award goes to gratuitous ghost butt.

Not only do they live in the grey, they idly stand around in the grey. They hang out and watch paint dry in the grey. They knock about, fiddle around, they reinvent the wheel in the grey. They lounge around in the grey. They inertly wallow in the grey. They take opium and sandbag themselves in a hazy corner in the grey. They do anything but perform memorable actions in the grey.
The film is about a Child Protective Services case worker who is living in grief over losing her own son. Her new case involves a young girl who the school thinks is being abused at home... but home appears to be haunted by malevolent ghosts. Because the CPS…

They Live in The Grey was that deep emotional ride with supernatural tones mixed in to give you that feeling of things not being under control.
The title of this film was where Claire had been living for most of her time due to unforeseen circumstances happening. This will have a vibe of The Sixth Sense with all the appearances of ghosts you will witness in the film. Even though the film itself will have a POC female lead in Michelle Krusiec, her character's (Claire's) story doesn't really get looked into until the second hour of this two hour watch.
Now this wasn't too much a bad thing but after the first hour, I was hoping to learn more about…

It's unnecessarily long and offers nothing

Maybe it's just seeing Ted K and this on back-to-back nights before work but there seems to be this uncomfy trend so far this year of new releases I'd absolutely love, instead of just really like, if only they had been like...20-30 minutes shorter, and it's got me even more nervous than I already was of The Fucking 3-Hour-Long Batman
-
Pretty good but unfortunately there is no need for any film to be 124 minutes long. 70-95 minutes is the future.
