Chrissie and her friends set out on a road trip for a final fling before one is shipped off to Vietnam. Along the way, bikers harass the foursome and cause an accident that throws Chrissie from the vehicle. The lawman who arrives on the scene kills one of the bikers and brings Chrissie's friends to the Hewitt homestead, where young Leatherface is learning the tools of terror.

Definitely of its time with its enhanced grotesque aesthetic, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning is dingy, murky, highly mean spirited, and ultra violent with characters put through the ringer of horrible situation after horrible situation. It’s pretty easy to see why many people wouldn’t like this so I totally get it, but I dunno... I like this sicko sepia movie.
This thing really feels like it’s coated in a mixture of blood and piss, a regular stained shit house of grim grime and bloody murder. Despite the fact that leatherface actor Andrew Bryniarski is one of the biggest jerkoffs that I’ve ever encountered (luckily he’s not in it THAT much), he’s actually a decent leatherface, and this seque/prequel hits most…

There’s just something about that super grimy mid-00’s horror aesthetic that I love so much. Just yellowed out and dirty as hell and makes you feel like you need a tetanus shot just from watching it. Good stuff!
This remake sequel tries a little too hard to outdo the remake and ends up falling behind it as a result, but I still enjoy it way more than I should every time I watch it. I’m not here to tell anyone that this is a “good” movie, but I will say it’s fun and DEEP in those 00’s torture porn vibes and there are a couple of moments of almost unbearable tension so I honestly rate it a little higher each time…

Fantastic Prequel the perfect set up for the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre(Reboot)! We witness the birth of the legendary horror icon Leatherface! And I mean that literally!
We discover the catalyst for the Hewitt family's cannibalistic nature! We find out how R. Lee Ermey earned his sheriff's badge! We also find out how uncle Monty lost his legs!
It's also a unique, touching coming of age story as we witness Leatherface take his first face! They say you never forget your first!
R. Lee Ermey is creepier and even more sadistic! When he releases his inner Kraken we get a brief glimpse of Sgt. Hartman from Full Metal Jacket!
The film is a Gore Hounds wet dream! Extreme Graphic Violence and Torture! Darker! Gorier! Bloodier!
and dare I say it... Chainsaw-bulous Good Fun!
