The Mummy's Dungeon is a cheap SOV horror flick in which a man lures young models to his home, so he can sacrifice them to the mummy that he keeps in his basement.
Ooh boy, this one was a chore to sit through. There is just too much repetition here. After the third model died before the half hour mark, I started to zone out (a grand total of seven models die, each after extensive individual photoshoots.)
The poster is great and the mummy looked pretty good, but the actual movie is an endurance test.

"The blood of the Pharoah's runs in your veins"
The mummy in this is great and looks like he reeke of ancient Egypt evil. As for the rest, it's a repetitive snoozer that has a photographer bringing girls to his house, peeping on them as they change, taking their photos in the same two sets and then sacrificing them. It does this over and over for 90 minutes and the kills aren't good enough to justify sitting through it all unless you're dedicated to W.A.V.E.. The relief my mind and body felt once the credits finally rolled is insane.
-
Kind of the same plot as Fatal Exposure but instead of Jack the Ripper's Grandson it's Psycho Charlie and instead of looking for models to impregnate he's feeding them to his mummy. Entirely too long but I found the repetition soothing, the non-modeling, the brown plaid couch, the displaced mummy. You have to want to be bored or the run time will murder you.

Absolutely mind numbing in the best possible way. One of those middle of the night brain malaises that I know I'd probably hate if I watched it at any other time of day, but there's this distinct brand of boredom that just sinks your spirit into the internals and eternals of whatever you're perched on, acting like a visual lullaby that's only working on putting your brain into a deep perfect sleep. Just the same thing repeated over and over and over and over and over. Model takes job from paper advert, comes over for vaguely BDSM photoshoots. You watch them get ready like a voyeur, but its not sexy or interesting, its just static shots and just normal, and…

First of all, my star and a half rating is probably way overstated; a modern day SOV mummy movie made in 1993 (and look at that awesome letterboxd poster) is going to get an extra star from me. The Mummy is also really not bad looking and I dug the Mummy’s odd stuttery performance (think how Garrett Morris and Steve Martin moved as Two Wild and Crazy Guys), and yeah that’s about it for positives. The Mummy’s Dungeon’s runtime consists of a repeated scenario. A would be model arrives at photographer’s (Kharis Rames) house for a photo session (natch). She mentions she answered his ad, Kharis says that’s great and this could lead to more work, he picks out an…

This is another W.A.V.E film that I've been eyeing for awhile now but saving to watch for spooky season- and I'm glad I did because I think I normally wouldn't like it as much as I did, but something about watching this on my back porch on a chilly fall day made this hit harder!
Anyways, I'll be the first to admit this is super repetitive- AND I MEAN SUPER REPETITIVE, but something about the droning cycle of model enters room, model gets dressed, model takes photos, model gets attacked by mummy, and finally model is sacrificed formula is soothing. Definitely something to prepare yourself to be blissfully bored during, but well worth a watch nonetheless!

Boring and repetitive in the way that many of the W.A.V.E. movies are, but lacking in the certain charm that makes the tedium oddly soothing and fun.
First half hour is alright, but diminishing returns set in around then.
Pretty cool looking mummy though.

It’s still amazing to me how the worst W.A.V.E. movies are the ones that gain the most traction.
I wanted to enjoy Mummy’s Dungeon and felt overall pretty promising within the first 30 minutes and I just lost interest. Incredibly repetitive and honestly lacking that W.A.V.E. charm I know and love. My score comes mostly from how much I did enjoy the concept and the mummy. The mummy is the star of the show and it’s unfortunate as I felt it was wasted in a film that really wasn’t that great, even by W.A.V.E. standards.
The ending is pretty great, this movie should have lost the whole middle section and just combined the first half hour with the last 10 minutes.
-
Sleazy SOV mummy horror as an excuse to show off girls photo modelling 90% of the time, except they were completely unnatural at it, all played out within painfully repetitive scene structure. Not even much of a dungeon when it barely resembled the director's basement.

Searching for the missing link between Universal Horror and a home made fetish tape? Your quest is at an end, as a John Milius lookalike lures young, aspiring models to his basement where they are terrorized by an Egyptian mummy.
As droning, obsessive and repetitious as Ray Dennis Steckler at his worst (Hollywood Strangler Meets the Skidrow Slasher, Las Vegas Serial Killer), The Mummy's Dungeon is ostensibly soft porn, where the filmmakers couldn't persuade the actresses to show enough skin, and had to make do with light bondage and restraining scenes instead. It's a world where claims like "Hey, we're making a horror film, we ain't creeps, babe, you can trust your uncle Sal" were propably used to put female…

The one star here goes to all the 90s ladies in this who all look lovely and I'd like to be their friends. Otherwise, this is a remarkably static and stale affair despite some tiny glimmers of charm here and there. Sleazy but never truly offensive feeling.
