Synopsis
A dad moves into a new house with his son and girlfriend. When he's out of town working, the son makes a new "friend" next doors.

this has the same story we've seen done a million times before with no unique aspects. where's the originality? i'm confident that within only the first 10 minutes, most people could predict the entire plot. do better.

The film has its moments with some good scares and creepy looking entity, but it delivers nothing original and contains too many clichés. Taking a concept that has already been done so many times without adding anything interesting, making it another formulaic and predictable haunted house film. That being said though, it's not a complete waste of time. There's some enjoyment to be found.

I can finally ride on my Dala horse and eat my Swedish meatballs with pride.
Good Swedish horror movies are rare to find. So, it's a big step for the Swedish film industry to deliver something that isn't complete garbage in this genre. Andra Sidan has taken lots of inspiration from other horror flicks. It wasn't something refreshingly new but still good. The visual and sound effects were surprisingly satisfying. The jump-scares did its work, and the creature was horrifying. The plot could've been much better, felt sort of weak throughout some parts, would've appreciated if they dug deeper into why the monster was acting as it did. But, fuck it, It's an entertaining movie and a positive step further into the horror world for Sweden. Gracias, Thank you, Tack!

Sweden's standards for horror are apparently so fucking low that this soulless Shining/Babadook worship made an acquaintance of mine recommend it to me. About as genuine or scary as an IKEA commercial.

The Other Side (Sweden)I had this one for so long in my shelf - Id didn't know why I waited that long...
Now I know! It's far beyond being worse, indeed it's a good and very atmospheric suspense horror pic with a pretty solid played lead character!
Although there were some scares which you've might seen before - you didn't see those here because they were built up very clever. It wasn't overloaded with jumpies at all so you really can focus on the tense the pic creates from minute one. You really can't say what's happening next and that's always a good point!
Definitely a pic I will watch again - scandinavian horror really still has it!

Ein Vater zieht mit Sohn und Lebensgefährtin in eine Doppelhaushälfte, dessen andere Hälfte schon längere Zeit unbewohnt und verlassen ist. Als der Junge sich mit dem Nachbarssohn, den sonst niemand sieht, anfreundet, wird deutlich, dass nicht alles mit rechten Dingen zugeht.
Dieser Geisterfilm baut schnell eine gruselige Atmosphäre auf und ist solange spannend, wie man noch nicht genau weiß, was wirklich passiert. Gegen Ende verliert er sich dann aber in Jumpscares und Effekten, wie man sie schon zu oft gesehen hat.
Insgesamt trotzdem ein kleiner sehenswerter Gruselfilm aus Schweden. -
Swedish horror film that's creepy as hell. The film uses a gray color pallette that aids the dark and ominous vibe perfectly. Also Troy James lends his contortionist talents to yet another creature which is always a skincrawling visual treat. There are plenty of predictable jumpscares accompanied by loud sounds as well. It's nothing you haven't seen before but that doesn't stop it from being a decent watch.

Star of a step mamma. Strong lady despite the accusations. Great female fighter.
Lucas was a wee star also, looking all creeped out at the house.
The boogeyman is wicked.... the lair, its twisted firestarter gait, whispery. Drag queens have that click when serving the T this being as a backward cluck and it sounds evil. Yum yum children, play with my creepy 70's ball.
Can I just say as soon as I seen that house next door I'd have said naw. Pretty obv.
