Synopsis
The passion burns deep.
A group of friends graduates from the halls of Georgetown University into lives that revolve around sex and career aspirations. Kirby waits tables to pay for law school. His roommate Kevin struggles at a D.C. newspaper as he searches for the meaning of love. Jules may be an object of adoration and envy, but secretly she has problems of her own. Demure Wendy is in love with Billy—a loveable sax player and an irresponsible drunk. Alec wants it all: a career in politics and the appearance of a traditional home life. Alec’s girlfriend, Leslie, is an ambitious architect who doesn't know about his infidelity, but his new allegiance to the Republican Party is already enough to put her off marriage.

A parade of the worst men ever.

is billy from stranger things based on rob lowe’s character

If there was any justice in the world, by the end of this movie all these characters would be in jail

Charade has often been called the greatest Alfred Hitchcock film NOT made by Alfred Hitchcock. Well I'm here to say that St. Elmo's Fire is the worst John Hughes movie John Hughes never made.
St Elmo's Fire is supposed to be a coming-of-age film about the whirlwind drama and fear that comes with graduating from college and becoming an independent person. But I feel like Joel Schumacher (Batman & Robin) was way over his head when he made this. This felt like he really doesn't understand young people and so these characters come off as what an old, out of touch man thinks young people act like. It's almost like Joel Schumacher saw the stereotypes in The Breakfast Club and thought…

The Breakfast Club but with cocaine instead of corn flakes.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
love how every character in this sucks in their own specific way <3
ROB LOWE: cheats on his wife, ditches his baby, tries to coerce multiple women into having sex with him, asks a woman to have sex with him as a "going away present," beats up a guy for hanging out with his wife who he keeps cheating on, i could go on forever
EMILIO ESTEVEZ: just...his entire storyline. he stalks andie macdowell (gets a copy of her work schedule, calls her office to check whether she's in or not, follows her to a party and confronts her at the party), switches from law school to med school to impress her, throws a party at his wealthy boss's house…

A two hour advertisement for men going to fucking therapy.

every person in this movie is either DUMB, EVIL, or ANDREW MCCARTHY, there is no in-between.

no one:
Billy: “so are you still a virgin?”
-
This movie is objectively so bad. But it makes me feel things. And I love the 80s. So I love this movie

"Yeah, I thought girls would think it was sexy"
