Nah, this movie is not what I remember it being like. It's been at least a decade, or even more since I've seen this and I remembered it as a very funny romcom - especially repeatedly seeing the comedy sequences over the years. But, I was so wrong. So fucking wrong.
Siva Manasula Sakthi still has its moments. 2000s Yuvan. I can just say that and people would understand. 2000s Yuvan was special. His music captured a whole generation at the time. Great album. Santhanam and Yuvan are the only reasons why I'm giving this movie any stars. Every scene Santhanam is in is an absolute blast. Jeeva is great in the comedy sequences but his character what the fuck.…

This movie is one of the best romcoms I've seen! That isn't an exaggeration. The chemistry between shiva and shakthi is awesome. It kept me engaged the entire time. It's the perfect mix of comedy, romance, and teenage shenanigans. It shocked me how good this movie was. There are many scenes throughout the film that I thought was directed and written perfectly. Please watch this film, you won't be sorry!

Rajesh’s debut directional venture is an enjoyable romantic comedy, thanks to the heartening music and hilarious performances from Jeeva, Santhanam n Urvasi. With a regular storyline, the movie heavily relies on the love-hate ego battle between two leads and its comical writing, and does succeed triumphantly for most parts delivering numerous rib tickling moments. Don’t judge the movie and have an entertaining timepass fun.

Machi oru quarter sollen...
Jeeva in this film is a cultural reset.

The story is soo bad people wanted to watch it again and again But some scenes, like the raining, drunk sakthi at sivas company creating trouble, is interesting and new as not many movies have that plot.

in conversation with a friend, the overarching motifs/thematics of Rajesh's early films, which mostly lay on the nice side of the hit or miss spectrum compass graph - unlike the rest of his work to date - precipitated into quite the fascinating subject, spurring this rewatch. despite the writer/director's many botched attempts at replicating the near formulaic charm of this early portion of his (brief) filmography, their appeal remains quite intact. okay so, most notably, these films singlehandedly have done so much to 'reclaim' the உதவாக்கரை archetype that had been violated so many times (in many many bad Dhanush films actually), positioning the unemployed/low-income persons as functioning members of society, and most importantly (to Rajesh, as it seems), of families:…
