Can’t believe how under the radar this thing has flown. Yeah, sure, it’s just another cliche Taken/John Wick revenge action/thriller blah blah blah over-choreographed to mimic The Raid blah blah blah, whatever. Don’t care. This kind of shit sucks me in like quicksand. It definitely takes a hot minute to get rolling and the true action (a gruesome quest through seedy Thailand establishments searching for a kidnapped pseudo-daughter) doesn’t even begin until the last 25 minutes, but guys, everything after that is fucking brutal & completely insane.
Nassim Lyes (oh my GOD that is a handsome man) must’ve just binged a million JCVD movies for a month straight prior to filming, cause he fights exactly like him, sweet chin music high-kicks…

A very simple unoriginal premise and basically a copy of John Wick. It's as predictable as it sounds but if you're looking for that quality adrenaline action, Mayhem! delivers. The main character's a badass and everything with his family throughout the movie was well executed. Most of my rating is for the action though, great choreography, so bloody and the camerawork is worth a praise as it follows every move. The elevator scene was peak I had a huge smile on my face the whole time, i'll remember that one for a while. I like the action sets and the village where it takes place. Unexpected twist and good ending.

For an action movie called “Mayhem!” and produced by the French outfit known as WTFilms, “Cold Skin” director Xavier Gens’ latest genre exercise starts off as a rather subdued affair that doesn’t seem all that eager to earn its title. An enjoyably hackneyed and machete-happy tale about an ex-con’s tragic first stab at a second chance, Gens’ Thailand-set foray into Gareth Evans territory is more than 40 minutes old before it borders on anything worthy of an exclamation point, and even by the time it’s over this slow-bruising riff on “The Raid” barely rises to the level of a low-key hullabaloo despite its promise of absolute pandemonium.
That isn’t necessarily a knockout blow against it. Inspired by his collaboration with…

a slowly pitched in crime/drama bursts out as an undiluted action gala. a tasty dish for this genre junkies. gory, brutal and extremely choreographed with no pretentiousness just as it should be. apart from it's familiar storyline, it gives us a proper mayhem! that lift scene ohh, the flavour🤌. Xavier gens covers my disappointment with under the paris in style. what could be more beautiful than peak adrenaline combats with neon gleams.

This was a very good bloody action movie. I really liked the story of this movie even tho it's been done before but still it was well told. The effects were very well done and the fight scenes were so good and bloody. The acting in this movie is also very good. The cinematography is beautiful.
Overall this is a very good action movie that i would suggest to people that like gory movies.

While not a Thai movie, it was still nice to see a quality action film set in Thailand. For about a decade there was this whole run of genre efforts from that country, and not just those that starred Tony Jaa. Suddenly, that scene seemed to vanish. In fact, a messageboard discussion about this topic spurned me to view this film, a French production which was mostly filmed in Thailand.
We follow Sam, a criminal just released from the slammer on probation. He tries to turn his life around, despite the badgering of his former cohorts who expect his return. An event happens and Sam flees to Thailand. Five years later, another event happens while Sam is attempting to provide…

Starts as a standard revenge thriller with some vague immigrant/class politics on its mind before descending into the most disgusting action I’ve seen in a bit. The last 40 minutes just go full on The Night Comes For Us with Gens reminding you that he was very much part of the French New Extremity for two seconds before he disappeared down a hole. Blew my hat right off my head.
Good shit.
