Synopsis
The end of the line starts here.
When an army commando finds out his true love is engaged against her will, he boards a New Dehli-bound train in a daring quest to derail the arranged marriage. But when a gang of knife-wielding thieves begin to terrorize innocent passengers on his train, the commando takes them on himself in a death-defying kill-spree to save those around him — turning what should have been a typical commute into an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride.

For the first 30-40 minutes, i was like “there’s a lot of ass-kicking, but it’s not as bloody as they were hyping up.”
Then the title card dropped.
-
Has raised the bar very high for action films in India . The best action film I’ve seen coming from my country - ever .
-
Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s “Kill” wants you to think it’s cheesy. It wants you to forget about its pointedly generic — albeit memorably blunt — directive of a title. It wants you to chuckle when the square-jawed hero (Lakshya) is introduced with a crunchy guitar lick. It wants you to roll your eyes when NSG commando Amrit Rathod trades meathead barbs with his mustached best friend, Viresh (Abhishek Chauhan), and it wants you to brace for a typically broad action romance when the boys crash an engagement party at a Radisson hotel in Jharkhand, where Amrit’s big-eyed beloved (Tanya Maniktala) is being forced into an arranged marriage by her father.
Following the festivities, Tulika and her business empire of a family…
-
Holy fuck. One of the best delayed title cards ever.

Saw the trailer for this a while back. “Oh look, it’s The Raid on a train. Wait, wasn’t that also Bullet Train? Whatever.” Decided on a whim to catch one of the lone theater showings near me. Walked in ready for yet another spin on John Wick. Walked out a different man entirely.
Movie starts off with a super hot cop wanting to marry a super cute rich daddy’s girl who’s been betrothed to another guy. They all get aboard a train together and have some cliché calm-before-the-storm action-movie-love-story moments. Turns out a bunch of the passengers are a (very) large family of thieves planning to rob all the other folks onboard. But Indian John McClane is here, so naturally…
-
It's nuts how much the title undersells the actual movie. See, there are actually very, very many kills in this. Like so many. And whoo boy they are not chill.
-
Blah blah The Raid, blah blah John Wick—you’ll hear that a lot, and it’s all a fair comparison, but it’s also something unique. The first ultra violent Indian film, the first action film this director has ever made. It’s gnarly as fuck. Enjoy.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

“Who kills like this? I killed four of your people. You finished off 40 of my family. You’re not a protector. You’re a fucking monster.”
This has been getting a lot of comparisons to The Raid which I don’t think is unearned, but what I found most exciting about this is that it’s 100% an interrogation on reciprocal violence in response to violent acts. Said violence is horrific, often bordering on straight up slasher territory. I’ve never seen anything quite like what this movie does, but there’s a phenomenal repeated beat where the villains stop to cry over their fallen brethren. Their horror and shock becomes stronger with each increasingly violent act committed by our hero. More than the excellent…

John Wick special Chad Stahelski is all set to remake this in Hollywood. Now, that is enough validation for this wild n creative action bonanza.
100 minutes of ultra violent-brutally explosive-non stop action entertainment. Within all the bloody gore and limited plot space, they still manage to raise its visceral stakes with an effective emotional undercurrent. Given the confined limitations of a train setting, the technical values deserve special applause; the phenomenally inventive close combat raw action choreography, fantastic cinematography, brilliant sound design and soundtrack keep you glued on to the edge of your seat by delivering exhilarating thrills. Lakshya and Raghav Juyal were both terrific. This no holds barred savage is a must watch for action junkies.
-
KILL is JOHN WICK on a train but with mostly knives and fists instead of guns. Non-stop action for 100 minutes.
Surely one of the most badass movies of the year. And the title reveal in this film makes DRIVE MY CAR shit its pants.
-
Probably all action movies should be directed by stuntmen.
