I really did enjoy this french comedy which was a bit like the Inspector Clouseau movies. The guy who played the hapless cop was played by Coluche. I had never heard or seen any of his movies before, but he was brilliant in this, I laughed out loud several times.
Wenig erheiternde Krimikomödie nach bekannter französischer 80er-Jahre-Machart. Ein-zwei zündende Gags und den Depardieu als windigen Gauner kann man trotzdem mal mitnehmen.
Coluche! I don’t even understand the phenomenon that was Coluche. A foul-mouthed but goofy comic turned actor who ran for President of France, somehow stole away best-friend Patrick Dewaere’s wife (a contributing factor in Dewaere’s 1982 suicide, fuckin Coluche), set a world speed record on a 750cc motorcycle and then died in a motorcycle accident (that some say was a murder) in 1986 at age 41. I don’t have much of a context for him though for American audience reference he seemed to be a John Belushi like character. An energetic comedian who took himself seriously, dealt with addiction issues and was not above playing the fool. In Inspector Blunder as absent minded cop, Michel, he’s definitely playing the fool.…
Maybe not the best time to watch a comedy about cops, but this film actually adresses police violence (though not from the angle of racism), and though it does it for comedy, one gets the distinct feeling that someone here (probably Coluche) felt they were making a point, showing the police as ineffective, prone to nepotism and violent.
But let's be real, this is not a political satire in any way, shape or form. It's just Coluche playing his bumbling everyman persona and being thrown in funny situations as a cop, with Depardieu as a fun villain. Some parts of it are... ahem, let's say problematic (there's a scene in which a rapist, depicted as severely mentally ill, is asked…
Im Laufe seines Lebens hat der Starkomiker Coluche (R.I.P.) einige Knaller abgeliefert und das Werk von Claude Zidi ist eines davon. Der französische Schauspieler, Michelle Coluche, gibt hier mal wieder den selbstironischen Pauseclown und überzeugt dabei auf ganzer Linie. Wer schon mit Brust oder Keule seinen Spaß hatte, der wird auch hier seine helle Freude haben.
Hochsympathisch kämpft er sich durch diese kleine Krimikomödie und sorgt dabei für jede Menge Lacher. Der Humor liegt irgendwo zwischen total genial und manchmal ziemlich Grotesk. Wenn Coluche bei einer Tatortrekonstruktion ein Mädchen spielen soll und dabei von einem echten Pädophilen bestiegen wird, ist das nicht jedermanns Geschmack. Die Szene wurde damals auch in der DDR-Fassung geschnitten
Mir persönlich hat der Film schon damals gut gefallen und habe mich gefreut ihn nach 20 Jahren endlich mal wiederzusehen.
