I've heard a lot about this movie being offensive and homophobic, but I just don't see it. As a gay man, I thought it was clumsy and often kinda dumb, but also completely sincere and heartfelt. It does traffic in stereotypes (effectively at times, I might add), but not in a hateful way, and there is no question that it reserves its harshest critiques for the small-minded and homophobic. Additionally, its two main characters (not to mention several others) undergo actual positive change over the course of the film that is believable and may actually change some minds in the audience.
In short, its message of tolerance may be awkward and partially obscured by lazy jokes, but it is real.…

this was on netflix so i says to myself i says u dont love or respect yourself so watch this so i watched it and then it was like 2 hours long which sorry to say is the worst thing about it except for all the truly vile offensive stuff that seems pointless to get worked up over bc the whole premise is bad, i knew it was gonna be bad, we all know the comedic conceit of this movie and if u choose to watch it on purpose that's on u!! YA DUMBASS!!! so mostly im just mad at the length because this is one of those movies that feels like its actually 100 hours long!!! that should be illegal!! ban movies w/ a 2 hour runtime NOW!! VOTE FOR ME AND I WILL OBLITERATE MOVIES!! ALL OF THEM!!! NOT JUST CHUCK & LARRY!! EVERY LAST ONE!!!!!

Even amidst all the gay panic jokes and leering at Jessica Biel’s butt, I still cannot believe Rob Schneider played that character that way in the year 2007. (Actually, I can believe it. But it’s still extremely depressing.) Overall, a veritable cornucopia of all the grossest phobias and isms. Plus bad jokes!
