Remember those days when Pinhead was a dumb creature who dragged people on a one-way trip to the underworld to provide them with what they desired, beautiful pain and suffering. But was not even a part of actual hell and was stuck in some lame place called the underworld living on leftovers while also realizing that he too was once a human being, and some narrow-minded guy named Clive Baker decided to restrict himself in that tiny universe with a bunch of rules and developed characters around it. Listen, this movie is incredibly ridiculous and as a Hellraiser movie it’s absolutely abysmal, but damn if it isn’t really fun in spite of that. How ridiculous is it? It’s about a group of teens addicted to a game called “Hellworld” who go to a party with fellow players only to find themselves picked off one at a time slasher style by Pinhead and some boring ass Cenobites. WHAT. Yep, Pinhead is basically a Jigsaw Freddy-style slasher who wields a large axe and spits out one-liners before he kills each victim. It’s DELICIOUSLY bad and also HIGHLY watchable. Could have been a good Simpsons episode conceptually. But I don't need Hellraiser as a teen slasher. 1,5 and a half star for Henry Cavill.

This is about a bunch of Hellraiser obsessed teens going to a huge Hellraiser party... Bold of them to assume there’s enough Hellraiser fans to throw a giant party for it.
I guess this was their attempt to be meta, or self aware, or something but it doesn’t work. HOWEVER, Henry Cavill and Katheryn Winnick are in this, which I did not at all expect, so it’s got something going for it. I’ll also say they benefitted from this all taking place in one location because it’s so much simpler than most of the other ones, and it’s better than the last one. Still bad though, obviously.
This is also Doug Bradley’s last film as Pinhead, so I’m sure it’ll get much much worse. I don’t even know why he was in the poster for the last two, because he literally had a combined 15 minutes of screen time between them. The final few movies are gonna be rough.

EDIT: NOT this being my 1000th log 💀 I should’ve done something special. Oh well, maybe on my 1000th review instead.

I can't believe there were two movies in this franchise released in the same year, and they are made by the same director, and they are completely different in every way except that they are both bad. This sucked really bad but the idea was at least more interesting to me than Part VII: Deader, so this is the second worst in the franchise.
