Never have any of the Mount Rushmore Slasher franchises stooped so low. Bottom-of-the-barrel trash. Front to back, a disgrace to a series that so adequately "ended" with Halloween: H20. Rick Rosenthal's exceptional work on Halloween 2 must've been a real fluke, because he doesn't have any idea what he's doing here. Nonsensical form and content - a movie that yearns for Michael Myers to burst through your own door so he can take you out of your misery. From aesthetic to narrative, this is one reboot that is so blatantly sick of its origins, as if it's embarrassed to exist. Well, consider myself embarrassed too.
Five measly points awarded to Busta Rhymes, who I can never really hate because he made Genesis. He also has a mean roundhouse kick.

Ok but how is Busta Rhymes actually the best part of this?? Him roundhouse kicking Michael Myers while doing the kung fu yell (and then later going "trick-or-treat, motherfucker") is the only reason this even gets a star. The early 2000s were wild... "Michael Myers is not a soundbite, a spin-off, a tie-in" lmaaaoooo.

Listen I am sorry not sorry, but this movie is so insanely awful that I can’t help but kinda love it.
Work kicked my ass today so I wanted something that I did not have to think about in any way and this totally fits that criteria. Every time I watch this I seem to find more new terrible things about it and each time I actually enjoy it a bit more for that very reason. Admittedly, there are a couple of actually great things going on here. I like the entire pre-title sequence with (a contractually obligated) JLC.
