The story revolves around a boy named Guppy(Master Chethan) who finds his living out of rearing and selling the small fish Guppy. Guppy has this dream of buying an automatic wheel chair for his ailing mother (Rohini). Things gets into turmoil when Engineer Thejus Varkey (Tovino Thomas) comes to the seaside village for the construction of a railway bridge. Many unexpected things occur when a small rivalry starts between Guppy and Engineer.

Liked the storyline of the film. The cinematography was beautiful and the way they covered the area near the sea was good. Guppy's dream and the ego clash between guppy and the engineer was written well. Climax finish was heart whelming. Film like these comes once in an year and they will heal us whatever is going through. These are my comfort film.

It is easy to dismiss Guppy as a slow, boring, laid back movie that tells an unremarkable story, as the audiences did when the movie was released. If you look closer, you will find a richly layered, profoundly imaginative showcase of character studies that will leave you with a wholesome experience if you were paying close attention. It is a strange story of many interlocking parts of unanswered questions that will leave you very satisfied in the end. For instance, why would a learned engineer want to pick a fight with a boy more than 2 decades younger to him? Why a railway bridge on a road with barely any traffic?
