Finally a good comedy.
Basil Joseph with another literally me Banger. Jagadeesh is irreplaceable.
കാശിക്ക് പോകുമ്പോൾ വരുന്ന oru Song okke 😂🙏
Overall a great stuff. The Varanasi portion was little dragging, but the movie manages to keep us entertained till the end, the emotions worked pretty well.
Reminded me of Little miss Sunshine.
Yo Malayalis, how do you consistently pull off this magic on the screen? And so consistently? It blows my mind to think of crafting a movie out of thin air, yet you cats turn anything into a two-hour joyride of comedy, sentiment, and heartstring-tugging emotions. This film's plot is wafer-thin, but they've spun it into a cool, beautiful fun park. One moment, you're rolling with laughter, and bam! Out of nowhere, a poignant scene hits you. Realistic vibes, stellar performances, and a chill narrative structure prove once again why the Malayalam film industry keeps dropping non-stop gems. Basil Joseph's on fire, making him the actor to always bank on. 'Falimy' is a wicked road trip drama, like 'Little Miss Sunshine' meets 'About Schmidt,' but with that signature Indian flair. Mad respect !!
Newest addition in the " look at me! I'm basil Joseph and I'm relatable" movie universe.
This is a prakrithi comedy movie.
The characters are well written and everyone aced their roles. Looks like more focus were given on writing the relationships between the characters rather than the whole script and it shows. Father - son relationship, mother- the glue of the fam , wanderlust appoopan and the confused young adult brother everything sinks inn. The friendship between the two old guys is just soo moving and impactful even without having much screentime and that's a win.
Falimy is saved by performances of the actors especially jagadish , he is on a roll with his performances lately. Basil Joseph is…
Falimy is a fun film that has its heart in the right place. The movie’s transition from one space to another, with occasional moments of emotional numbness and a continuous flow of genuine humor makes it an entertainer that puts a smile on your face.
73/100
Banger album and a simple story…it goes into the category of palthu janwar when you have to make a basil-tier list. Though it has some great scenes, where it explores loneliness and grief, the effect of those scenes are really short. But, I liked how they dealt with the story, despite having some cliches scenes.
What an adorable dysfunctional family, sorry, falimy!
Enjoyed every second of this rollicking road trip.
Basil Joseph continues his success streak. But, it is Jagadish who is the real star of the show here. What an actor!
Try to watch this fun/falimy/feel-good entertainer with your falimy.
More than the plot which has a nice
mix of emotions and comedy,I loved
the performances especially by veteran
actor Jagadish!
A malayali family goes on a trip to Kashi - what could possibly go wrong?
There's a scene in the movie where Jagadish is struggling to open the door of a van; he's doing the push/pull motion while Basil quietly comes and slides the door open for him. Its just a small gesture but in dysfunctional families they still show that care for each other in weird ways. The father character is a product of his own father's upbringing so he doesn't openly express his love for the children. I was emotionally touched by the family (falimy) dynamics -in many ways it feels like our own "Little Miss Sunshine".
For their debut work - Nithish Sahadev and Sanjo Joseph have…
