  Drive Angry is like getting hella wasted at Chili's on Thursday Night because you don't have anything to do on Friday except go to TGIFriday's and get hella wasted to burn off the remnants of the Chili's bender and extinguish the remnants of the deep-fried appetizers something jalapeno stuffed whatever.

  Drive Angry is like buying pre-distressed buttrock t-shirts at Target to go with your pre-distressed jeans also purchased at Target to wear to your big night out at Chili's to get hella wasted and order too many appetizers which you hope not to lose prematurely in the Chili's bathroom.

  The fact that you apparently do not possess enough cognitive capacity to grasp that does not excuse you from:

  - writing dialogue shitly

  - writing your plot craply

  - making everything dully

  You should thank God on your bare knees that someone cast Heardly, Cagely and Fichtnerly.

  Is it me, or does the music that plays on the background while THAT WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED is getting her ass kicked in the trailer sound very similar to "Mombasa" from Inception?

  There is a saying among cinephiles that goes like "no movie deserves to be made," but I think this film's purpose is clear and simple: to confront those who thought Cage didn't have what it takes to play Ghost Rider. In an ironic turn of events, the best film from the Marvel character came out the same year that the (allegedly) awful sequel to Ghost Rider doomed the character for a while. I wonder if in a way, that was Patrick Lussier's intention all along.

  My god....Amber Heard...a spectacular looking lady. She could be my favourite!

  Sadly Ms Heard is outshone here by the real, super sexy star of the film.

  As Nic Cage as a Nic Cage movie has ever been. Drive Crazy features Nic Cage being totally batshit crazy, smoking, drinking, killing, and fucking! Sometimes all those things at the same time while wearing a ridiculous hairpiece. Just over the top ridiculous trash and boy does it know it. Unfortunately, Amber Heard is in this and keeps her clothes on the entire time but Christa Campbell and Charlotte Ross make up for her in that department.

  Appreciate that this aspires to bring some of that schlocky Devil's Advocate hellfire to the vulgar, southern-fried chase movie, and I see what people have fun with in it but there's a bit too much of that winking Rodriguez desperation to be a "bad" hyper-macho cult movie going on. I prefer this kind of movie made by a bunch of passionate stunt guys trying their best to make good trash on a shoe-string budget rather than a $50m studio movie that thinks intentionally doing shitty CG makes it more like a modern grindhouse movie. (The instinct this has to get Cage for the lead role is basically everything wrong with it, even if there's some obvious fun to be had with him because he's the best.) Did marginally enjoy spending some time with my good buddies Tom Atkins and William Fichtner I guess.

  Who needs prestige film-making when you can watch a grindhouse darling epic in which Nicolas Cage plays a man who's escaped from literal hell to save a baby from a doomsday cult? Drive Angry is a cinematic bucket of delicious deep-fried chicken that I couldn't resist, empty calories and trans fats be damned. The film is relentlessly vulgar (this is the second Patrick Lussier film I've seen in a month and both feature a deeply unecessary sequence involving gruesome violence and a fully naked woman). It's also willfully dumb and over-the-top. But there's a genuine escapist fire in its soul that entertains with the best of them.   The fact that the Turd Succubus is in this and I still gave it 4/5 should tell you how fun this film is. BTW she "plays" a violent, crass, haggard hick. What a "performance"!

  (supporting my dear friend Sonia by visiting this stop on her thirst journey. On that note I've been watching Mom lately and it's shockingly hard-hitting for a sitcom.)

  This movie is fucking fun.

  Anybody that reads my reviews knows I drop an F-bomb here and there. It's a beautiful word frankly and I probably use it too often, especially when I'm feeling salty.

  Drive Angry embraces it's trashiness and uses the F word so much it's literally in some of the Closed Captioning subtitles -- when there is no dialogue.

  And speaking of Fornication Under Consent of the King-ing, Nicolas Cage's character has a sex scene that is so insanely outrageous, you have to see it to believe it.

  Cage, in a horrible blond dye job, is actually remarkably reserved for once to a point that he's like a zombie reciting lines. Amber Heard, a few years before…

  I swear every time i’ve been to either one of dem hoes this movie be playing on a shitty early 2000s flatscreen tv with some weird audio quality issues and it’s weirder too cause i’ve never seen this film fully from the start to the finish but i’ve seen it in segments so many times 😭 (thats why im putting a rewatch thing on dis jon 🫡🫡) but today after waking up at 7pm after a long nice night of booze cruising I decided to watch this shit from the start…

  Half-baked, but not half bad. Ghost Rider would have been a better title, but that was taken. At least Patrick Lussier understood the gimmick of 3D and didn't treat it as a pretentious immersive experience. Duck you sucka, cuz shit is comin' at ya! Seeing it today, that CG is on par with the first Sharknado. Amber Heard's boots were made for walking all over you and she's a real scrapper. You were warned dudes. Tom Atkins was the film's truest badass, though. Just a freakin' legend.
