Synopsis
Everything seems uneventful for Dean and Claire, as they head out into beautiful rural Australia for a weekend away. Their biggest problem is what to do about Claire being accepted into an interstate University. The couple come across Knuck and things start to spiral out of control. Heath and Jarred only stoke the fire and both Claire and Dean's greatest fears are made reality.

Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
Mercifully short. At least the film makers new only to give us what we need. And thus the movie is less than 90 minutes. A nice breezy 71.
If you've been in the bottom circle of horror you know exactly what this is. A cute upper middle class couple is driving along and a bunch of poor people attack them.
Because there is nothing scarier than poor people.
Anyway, we get extended scenes of emotional and physical violence on our hapless couple. With a focus on sexual emotional and physical violence on the female of the couple.
They escape and then enact revenge on the evil kidnappers. Usually the dude dies and…

It’s very Wolf Creek but with more downtime, less interesting characters, and less blood. I dare say this is Wolf Pup Creek. Not a bad movie but ultimately unsatisfying... there are so many better ways to spend 78 minutes.

I had heard practically nothing about this Australian film going in and wow this really surprised me. Its got a short running time so things move fast, its got some great kills, and it has a pretty great car chase scene for a low budget film. Everyone was talking about the other Australian horror film The Killing Ground but to me this is better on every level. I'm probably giving this a higher rating than this deserves but man was I in the mood for a mean spirited backwood horror film. 3.5/5 stars.

Economy version by Wolf Creek with some technical flaws (camera, editing), weak actors, but a nice soundtrack. In principle, the movie doesn't do anything new, which was also not to be expected. However, it also doesn't offer an appealing atmosphere, tension or entertainment. For the most part Blood Hunt is boring. And that's pretty rare with such revenge flicks. In the last third it gets a bit harder, but only a little bit, but as a viewer I have lost all interest.

Sometimes when you go see a young band, you can tell right away what records they grew up listening to. This is the grindhouse movie equivalent of that.
Scuzzy and occasionally amateurish (inaudible dialogue, spots on the camera sensor), it has a sharp edge to it.

Really, what's the fucking point to making these anymore? It's always the same. Shaky cam, bunch a' scumballs raping and torturing, yadda yadda. The shock is well-worn off, and without any sense of personal style or personality or fucking ANYTHING to make it worth existing, what the hell is the point? It's just a trudge through unpleasantness without any sort of care towards pacing or storytelling, or even technical ability.
-
too much shakey cam & super fast cutting - i swear there were points where no shot lasted longer than half a second.
but it's got some good mean violence. very standard in most ways, no surprises, but it's dependably brutal at times.
-
Another solid and grisly shocker from Sam Curtain. One thing I’ve noticed in his films is he’s a decent cameraman and definitely someone who I think could thrive with something a bit deeper.
-
very solid low budget stuff. dawdles a bit for the opening, but the action when it comes is pretty good. nothing you haven't seen before. this is formula through and through, but it's tough and mean and i had a good time watching it.

A brutal aussie road movie. Easy, one of the best horror movies that i ever seen. It's a basically a great revenge movie.
