AK: Welcome to the big league Siva
VJ: Thuppakki ah pudinga Siva
SK justifies both through Amaran, entering the big action league with all guns blazing.
The man lives and breathes as Major Mukund, impressing with his terrific transformation and sincere performance. A definite milestone in his career. The choice to narrate it through Indhu Rebecca Varghese pov was a masterstroke, as it makes it feel like an emotional love story brimming with heart and soul. Sai Pallavi was truly fantastic and their hearty chemistry-nuanced romance get so refreshingly executed. GVP strikes with his musical score, perfectly complementing the grand rich visuals and powerfully effective action sequences.
Though it felt a bit stretched with few generic hiccups, the technically brilliant and well…

SK's "indhu, i got it, i passed it" dialogue delivery reminds me of Vimal anna's i got it dialogue.
One of the most dull and blandest SK flicks and i prefer films in which SK is in his strongest zone over this.

A dull biopic that treats its protagonist as a larger-than-life hero (in the army portions, we see Mukund being a good leader and colleague. He goes out of his way to help people and doesn't go against his boss's orders. Even when he gets shot, he goes to Kerala to protect a soldier from Kashmir. How can a real person be portrayed only in good light without any shades of grey?) instead of a real, flawed, vulnerable character. The writing is largely incoherent, driven by montage-like storytelling with very little substance. There is no setup for important scenes/moments in the film, there is very little emotional reasoning for the action/war scenes, and most importantly, there's hardly any scene-writing but mostly reel-writing (at least almost throughout the first half). Things just keep happening randomly without any coherence. Sai Pallavi and her character's romance with Mukund makes the film slightly watchable. Bummer.

If I say something I'll be in trouble.
If I rate it I'll be in much bigger trouble.
Anbe sivam reference in the movie gotta be one the biggest jokes ever.
KH producing this really broke my heart.
Yaar yaar sivam? Nee naan sivam,
Vaalvae dhavam, anbae sivam,
Aatthigam paesum adiyaarkellaam sivamae anbaagum,
Aatthigam vaesum nallavarukkoe anbae sivamaagum
P.S I remember how 10 to 15 years back sk used to host a lot of award nights, audio launch and tv shows where most of the jokes used to be centred around him on how he wants to be a hero but will never be .
Look at him now.

“WHO ARE WE?”
idk but we are crying for sure

The calmness of Indhu at the end is more loud. Sai Pallavi is a great actress🫡.

Sry ba not a fan of films that say "Ellam azharanga la paathu neeyum azhu da". I should feel it in me to cry. The man and his story deserved a better film.
Right when the professional life arc of Major Mukund starts, there's a line in the film that goes "Stone pelting is such a nuisance here sir", I got concerned over where the film's loyalties lie. There's one other sequence where the military men are celebrating their kills (even a montage edit that's intercut between the soldiers killing and them playing Holi with each other). But thankfully the film doesn't dwell much on these insensitive bits.
One other takeaway line being Major Mukund's father asking his son, who's…

Either SK is shooting or SP is crying.

"sk has turned into such a good actor" he's been a good actor you guys are just brain rotted from commercial masala films 🧍🏽
i hate the way muslims are portrayed in this film bro
-
a very generic and commercialised biopic that is no different from many that have come before it. someone should study how all these army men in movies seem to have literally the same life story and are almost like superheroes at all points and never have any vulnerability. only good parts are the scenes with sai pallavi who carried the film despite the terrible malayalam dialogues given to her. GVP also does a great job in the music department. the dehumanising portrayal of kashmiri muslims isn’t helping the film either, even the first 15min of beast had more nuance. overall it might be a crowd pleaser but it was still a very disappointing watch
-
I don't know how many of you guys have actually gone through this but you know when a new movie opens to positive acclaim from all sides - and you decide to join the bandwagon and decide to go and watch and support that movie in the theatre, just for you to walk out absolutely gutted and disappointed. Well, this is that movie.
Amaran has been the talk of the town since it opened last week. With literally everybody talking about Sivakarthikeyan thuppaki pudichitaaru dawww, but most of them not even telling why they even like the film. I heard some stupid fucks shouting kaduvuley ajithee before and during the showtime and it pissed me off.
It's already one of…
