Summoned from an ashram in Tibet, Ace finds himself on a perilous journey into the jungles of Africa to find Shikaka, the missing sacred animal of the friendly Wachati tribe. He must accomplish this before the wedding of the Wachati's Princess to the prince of the warrior Wachootoos. If Ace fails, the result will be a vicious tribal war.

The warden from Shawshank Redemption being in this only a year after the actual Shawshank Redemption is just mind bending.
Way more absurd than the first movie, but there’s a lot going on in this underneath the cartoonish goody veneer—saw this review from the great ltopomcfly and I couldn’t agree more.
That slinky scene is an all timer—I can’t believe I saw this in theaters with my mom lol
More silly than the first, and made with twice the budget so it actually feels more professionally made. I do think the original is slightly better considering it just feels more classic, but this adventure is a bit deeper, more involved and much more epic, yet not to the extent that it becomes an impediment to the enjoyment of the feature. Jim Carrey and these films along with a few others he did made the 90's an incredibly classic year for comedy in general, and Ace Ventura is widely considered his top films. Sure the comedy isn't for everyone, but it still greatly entertains me today, and I'm not ashamed to say so.

Bumble Bee Tuna! Bumble Bee Tuna!!
This is a rare instance of a comedy sequel being better than the original. There's a few things that are superior in the first but in terms of memorable one-liners, and ridiculous antics, When Nature Calls is the more memorable of the 2 films.
There's the monks throwing the party because Ace is leaving, his freaking out over the bat, the white devil fight, and of course... The infamous rhino scene. It's silly and kind of stupid... And I kind of love it.
"You must be the Monopoly Guy. Thanks for the free parking. Do not pass go! Don not collect $200."
Not as good as the first film, Jim carry is more energetic and silly and let off the leash on this one. You will either like this or not depending on if you find Jim carry funny or not. I do amd either though the film gets out of control with no control of the story, there is some funny scenes here that make me laugh. The projection Booth scene and the mechanical rhino scene are highlights for me.

Nostalgia really is blind. I'm sorry to all those that love this movie, but don't you see any flaws here? Any at all?
The racial insensitivity is MASSIVE and made me uncomfortable the entire length of the film. In every scene that these African tribes are in, Ace observes their customs and mocks in his hyperactive manner. Constantly making a joke out of their language, their dances, their sign of affection. It's repulsive.
The "white devil" saves the day of course, always the hero. Yeah well, this movie didn't make me smile a single time. Not even a crack of a smile. Carrey is painfully obnoxious, obviously ramping things up for the sequel. I really had a horrible time with this one.

I remember being in elementary school and thinking Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls was hilarious. But as an adult I would say it is mildly amusing at best, but mostly just bearably watchable. You can tell the people who made this sequel figured out that Jim Carrey's Ace character is mostly just funny for kids. So it was nice that this one was more child-friendly since I was watching it with my three boys. But that also lead to most of the movie involving Ace going off on all these random tangents that are outrageous, but also get tiresome especially when he does things…
