The Brutalist 2024

Oh man oh man, this one is interesting.
A24 continues to distribute (in my humble opinion) weird smutty movies or a masterpiece. The Brutalist was a gentle rest in the middle, but still a weak execution.
I loved the shots in this film, and appreciate Vista-Vision usage and the packaging, but the narrative fell apart toward the end, and I felt it lacking respect for the heartbreaking immigrant experience.
The ending was odd, a bit unfulfilling, and not as great as the first act.
Idk, didn’t do it for me. Brody killed it though.

Uncomfortable and thought provoking ending.
Was absolutely along for the ride, but was honestly here for Deakins.
BUT I feel like there’s a LOT of great symbolism here. Also loved the macro shots, very creative and captivating.

My family surprised me for by birthday to see this with a live orchestra. The lights synced with the visuals and the live music was absolutely insane. This movie tops the first one by just a little, but WOW.
