One of the biggest compliments I can give Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is that it doesn't feel like cheap nostalgia bait. Instead, it kinda feels like we're coming home to Winter River after 36 years away.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is such a hoot, it left me in a terrific mood. Tim Burton's style and energy are all over this, and the humour is on point. In fact, the humour is sharper this time. The cast is so great, with all returning characters stepping back into their roles without missing a beat and the new additions bring a little more flavour to the picture. There are little nods and easter eggs to the first film but it never feels excessive, and honestly, Beetlejuice worm > Dune worm. Sure, it may not have the deepest or grandest story out there, but Beetlejuice Beetlejuice absolutely nails being so much fun. I love the first film but part of me was worried about how this would turn out, and I am so glad to say that it is a total blast!
