so I hadn’t watched this since early childhood and forgot everything that happened… so I put it on thinking it would be seasonally appropriate for halloween only to discover it’s one of the greatest christmas movies ever made.

when the dudes said “there is enchantment in the light”, they weren’t lying. this film is absolutely that: enchanting in every way and drawing you in to a world of fantasy with the sound of crashing waves, droning ships, and seagulls.
