I always assumed they used a fake body in all scenes where Jigsaw is playing dead. I learned now that the crew suggested to make a doll since the body isn't supposed to move and we can't see his face anyway.
But no, Tobin Bell laid on the tile floor playing dead for weeks. For the sake of authenticity.
I respect him even more now.
