Saturday Night Shorts: Film 216
"Some believe that the forest cares for nothing but itself...but that's not true. If you listen carefully you can hear it's voice...it's tortured heart can feel our pain too."
A relentlessly bullied school kid gets his revenge when he uses an ancient book passed down through generations of his family to summon a horrific creature from the forest.
One of the best places on the internet to find micro doses of horror is the Crypt TV YouTube channel, and it's there that I found this little gem. While this short horror flick may be just shy of five minutes long, it hits the ground running from the first second and continues to be awesome throughout it's entire runtime. Who doesn't love a summoned monster enacting revenge for a pathetic sort who needs it's help? Especially when the creature is as awesome looking at this tree monster is. This is one of the few shorts films that I encounter during my Saturday Night Shorts project that I wish would be made into a feature length movie. Or at the very least an episode of some horror anthology television series. Good stuff!
