Twenty minutes too long? Perhaps. But once it gets going, it’s like nothing else out there. Stone and Gosling are engaging and genuine, the dance routines sublime and the storytelling charmingly cheerful.
Coming along at just the right time - when escapism is quite the order of the day - this is a tale that is full of upbeat whimsy, tinged with just enough pathos to ground the fanciful fantasy with a well-placed Nuevo Epoca Buenos Aires!
