My patience has finally paid off!

That really was an amazing movie to watch. I hadn’t seen the stage musical in a long while so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to remember much of the story or the songs. Turns out I underestimated myself with the latter because every song came back to me as if I had just listened to them yesterday. That’s the sign of a good musical.

Something I’m glad this movie did is that…

I’ve been looking forward to this one all year ever since I saw the trailer and that Colman Domingo was the star.

It gives me reassurance that movies like this can still be made today. It’s nothing flashy it’s nothing over the top, it’s just a serene slice of life film.

I was a theater kid since high school and all throughout college so you know I have a soft spot for this movie’s premise. Any other movie could have…

OH MY GOD! That. Was. Incredible! This is the good crazy I love to be surprised by.

Coralie Fargeat came up with all of this?! All of this was her brainchild?!?! Please, let her continue to run as far as she wants in any way she wants! I need a David Lynch and David Cronenberg that I can actually enjoy. Putting aside the craziest body horror I've seen, probably ever, she managed to make a story that was easy enough…

Once again, Lanthimos has not disappointed me!

Now that I’ve seen pretty much all of his major movies I can pick out keywords to describe his movies: Certifiable insanity. Abstract. Horny. Sincere storytelling. Violent. Genius.

The movie is essentially three different stories featuring the same 7 different actors in each of them. You wouldn’t think it but they have one thing that connects these stories together. Did it need to? Not really, but I applaud Yorgos for committing to that.…

    Wow. What a film.

Kevin Costner must have said to himself “You know what? I want my first time in the director’s chair for a movie to be a 3 hour long frontier western epic, and I’ll also star in it.” And that film and Costner ended up winning the academy awards over Francis Ford Coppola AND Martian Scorsese. Not many people can achieve that so mad respect there.

This really feels different from what we think of Western movies. Apparently…

I’d forgotten how cerebral this movie was.

Now I’m not one to say which movie should have won Best Picture or which actor should have won Best Actor, but if someone held me at gunpoint and asked me what I’d have liked to win, it’s this movie and Riz Ahmed. At least this won best sound. It would have been a crime if this didn’t win best sound.

One of my biggest fears is that I’ll lose my hearing. Someone…

I’ve been wanting to rewatch this for a long time, but I promised myself I wouldn’t until I’ve rewatched everything leading up to this.

God what a movie. Seeing it all again reignited my love and appreciation for this series. I’ll sound like a broken record saying this but whenever an anime gets its own movie, which expands what you love about the series in a film budget, it is one of the most under appreciated feelings you…

    YO, this movie is awesome!

I love a movie that keeps the energy going and going, and I was not tried of any of it!

The DNEG animation felt so familiar but done in such a presentation that I feel like I haven’t seen in a good long while! I loved the retrofuturistic esthetic, typically you see more Steampunk so this was a fresh new take.

The humor in this was incredible, Moretz really is becoming one of the funniest…
