I just saw Sam Wilson hold on to the finger of a celestial. I love Marvel.
When the trailers for this first started it looked like they were going back to the Winter Soldier vibe. Then as it got closer and closer I started lowering my expectations. Now, I glad I did that.
The movie is a continuation of Falcon and the Winter Soldier and, after all these years, The Incredible Hulk (further proving that patience can be rewarded you a**holes!)
Movies that debut in the month of January tend to not be grand. Not that you can’t find a few that aren’t bad but more often than not they’re fine at best. I’m happy to say that Companion…is above average.
I wish they hadn’t have revealed so much from the second trailer. I feel like knowing that information I could pick up on obvious clues. But I’ll give the movie some credit it saved a few other reveals. It’s fun,…
A very…environmentally conscious film. That’s a good way of putting it.
Ever since that first trailer I had a feeling I would fall in love with this movie. And I did. The animation, plot, characters, and score all leave me with such an emotional impact that I didn’t think would be that high. I would definitely be down to seeing more of these.
Also happened to watch it in 4DX and I’ll just say…it’s a worthy inclusion.
Didn’t Mangold already make this movie 20 years ago?
This is another case of a movie I wouldn’t really watch if it wasn’t getting so much Oscar buzz. Timothee Chalamet is becoming one of the biggest up and coming actors and yet I still can’t stand the guy.
You can believe the scariest aspect of this movie was not a Vampire’s wang, but his mustache.
If had to hire a director to remake a silent horror film that released over 100 years ago, you can’t go wrong with Robert Eggers. He successfully managed to give the story an upgrade while also maintaining the premise and idea behind its antagonist. And hey, nothing wrong with adding a little horniness to it.
Mickey 17 is close at hand, so I gotta get my Bong Joon-ho mood on with his first majorly English speaking movie: Snowpiercer. Also my first introduction to Joon-ho.
A lot of Joon-ho’s movies involve emphasis on social and class themes. How the poor are treated in contrast to the rich. When I first watched this movie it was very reminiscent to the video game series Bioshock.
The more I rewatch it with an adult mindset, the more problems I see…
Now that I’ve seen pretty much all of his major movies I can pick out keywords to describe his movies: Certifiable insanity. Abstract. Horny. Sincere storytelling. Violent. Genius.
The movie is essentially three different stories featuring the same 7 different actors in each of them. You wouldn’t think it but they have one thing that connects these stories together. Did it need to? Not really, but I applaud Yorgos for committing to that.…
I’ll admit, when I first heard about this movie I was worried by its very long runtime. I was still planning to check it out due to the award buzz it’s been getting. I’m glad I did because this movie rules.
The movie’s 3 and a half hours long and let me quell your worries by saying I did not feel the long runtime at all. I was so captivated by everything I saw. Director and writer Brady Corbet continues…
I think another reason why I get into this movie is because it’s loosely based on Sonic Adventure 2. My brother was better at that game than I was but that’s where I got more information about Shadow’s backstory. Plus having Sonic, Tails and Knuckles together for the majority of the film reminds me of Sonic Heroes. A game I did play a lot of as a kid.
You give a Stephen King story to a guy like Oz Perkins, you’re in for a bloody good time.
Honestly I had forgotten it was based on a King story until the very end. It just felt like a B-movie with a little more effort put into it. There’s a lot of shocking moments that leave you appalled or laughing just because there’s no other feeling to it.
I love that Perkins gave the monkey a drum because Toy Story 3 had a monkey with symbols so they had to change it up.
