I don't know if this is a hot take, but personally, I think that The Shining is one hell of a goofy movie. And I'm not saying that as if it's a bad thing—I actually believe that the goofiness made me enjoy and appreciate the movie even more. But, damn, I don't think this film would have worked without Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. Even little Danny Lloyd shines in this movie!
With that being said, I'll give this Stanley Kubrick classic a solid 4/5. The cinematography is impeccable, and the storytelling is pretty neat as well. Definitely worth a watch.
Undeniably one of the greatest films in the history of cinema—Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange has weirdly became my "comfort" movie for some time now. As disturbing as it is, I consider it as an effective and impactful satire, being narrated by the degenerate Alex DeLarge. The opening scene in this film is also captivating as hell. A solid 5/5.
