Love and Money 1981
The soft-spoken Ray Sharkey is unfortunately miscast in a role that would've been better-suited to someone like Warren Beatty or Harvey Keitel, but Love and Money still manages to come out an arresting romantic thriller from writer-director James Toback, wholeheartedly embracing its litany of quirks for better and worse, while the rich dialogue and vivid cinematography are undoubtedly the major highlights.

There's a million flavors of irony to disgraced writer-director James Toback not only making a film entitled Exposed but also casting himself in a minor supporting role as an amorous older professor having an affair with Nastassja Kinski, comparing her to an angel, and begging her not to leave while at the same time attempting to strike her and repeatedly — and crudely — berating her.
