Truth be told, I kinda found this movie to be boring. Probably a controversial way to open up a review on this site about a nolan film but it was how I truly felt at times while watching this.
Now while I did say this was boring, I do think Nolan did have a good come back with this film at the end of the day. This was a far better film than tenet was and there’s lots to appreciate here at least. So in a way he did get me to respect him again.
The technicals of this film from a visual standpoint look incredible. When this film does explosions and stuff like that it looks very cinematic. Also the sound mixing was easily the stand out of the show because legit my theater was shaking with how epic the sound got here. Plus the acting from everybody was very good. Robert Downey Jr delivers in his best role yet. Plus this delivers on some great scenes that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
Though I found the script to this to be messy a bit but that’s because it’s focused on the how smart are you card which I found a bit pretentious. But also it relies on a rewatch to fully understand the scope of this film.
I appreciated the technicals to this film more than I liked watching it. I’ll give it a rewatch soon and see where that takes me.
