Mad Max fury road is the best sci fi I’ve seen up until now. The cinematography is truly breathtaking, MMFR is so compelling yet so simplistic. It truly is one of a kind when it comes to the genre. It has everything Dune had and levelled it up in all aspects even though MMFR was Dunes predecessor, they managed to make it feel like a movie that won’t be made for another 15 years. I love George Millers take on a post apocalyptic world, and seeing as though I’m going to try and write my own novel set in the post apocalypse, I will heavily base a lot of my imagery and details around this beautiful, yet barren world. Miller uses Tom Hardy as his box office battering ram and it works an absolute treat, Hardy has solidified himself to me as one of the best of his generation. People talk about Di Caprio from 2012 to 2015, but Hardy in my mind can match that with his ability to go from the 2050s to the 1820s back to back. I love how they use something so simple as water and milk supply to be the catalyst of a near 2 hour chase. The villains were relentless, they came in hoards and pushed the main characters to their limits. Immortan Joe has an intimidating aura about him, it’s infectious. Action sequences were the best I’ve seen, ever. Bar maybe one of the predators or John Wicks. Realistic Ending, everything here is realistic for what I would expect the future to look like. Eventually.
