Overall the film and the ending earn 3.5 from me, but because I got to enjoy a film (especially an A24 release) without existential or emotional distress, it gets 4 stars.

Legit scary. I figured out some of the plot beforehand, but it didn’t turn me off. It still felt original. I see some reviews compare it to other contemporary horror from the past decade so maybe I need to catch up.

I love the soundtrack and the message and the actors and the fashion, but it never lands for me. It’s a live action cartoon, replete with comic panels. It just feels so corny. But I love everything else. Maybe one day I will come around.

I liked this until the last 2 minutes when I had no idea what was happening. I looked up an explanation and apparently it is a flashback, which is an interesting twist, but how would I ever figure that out on my own?
Edit: I was told there was a clear line of dialogue I missed that explained what was happening.
