Southland Tales 2006
One of the most abrasive openings to any movie ever.
Such a frustrating/fascinating swing for the fences, we finally got a new Richard Kelly flick coming and part of me hopes he brings back this manic energy. I'll say for a supposedly $17 million budget, he pulled off some fun production design ideas plus an objectively great cast

Wastes no time and gets right into the paranoia. Doesn't matter to me whether it's 100% historically accurate, this is Oliver Stone doing his thing.
Love the crazy editing, the score, all the little cameos (if you can even call them that): John Candy! Walter Matthau! Jack Lemon! so many great moments for everyone to shine.
