Having only seen the comedic films of Kevin Smith's filmography − Clerks, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back and Cop Out − it has shined a new light on his work to me seeing him tackle a dramedy on a romance between a lesbian woman, Alyssa (Joey Lauren Adams), and a heterosexual man, Holden (Ben Affleck). The fact that he put much thought into these characters and their reasoning for their unprecedented romance while adding his usual comedic touches on an uncommon premise in romantic films is what made Chasing Amy an enjoyable watch, even with that ridiculous solution Ben Affleck's character made up to save his relationships. A solution I can't help but think us men would actually come up with thinking it would help. #MenBeStupid
