A staggering achievement.
Structurally fascinating, technically mesmerizing, this should be remembered and acclaimed in the same way as Fincher’s The Social Network proved to be perhaps the most important movie of the 2010’s. The two are structurally quiet similar, both using a dual-deposition type setting to separate the key perspectives, framing large portions story through flashback
I know I’m not a major Nolan fan, I never have felt strong attachments to his work. I love The Dark Knight, and I think The Prestige is pretty great. But he has never been one of my guys. However, I was on the exact same wavelength as him when Tenet released, it was my favorite Nolan for a lot of reasons that many of his fanboys would plainly disagree with. I believe now that Oppenheimer is his best work.
