2016 was the year I was first able to drive on my own, which meant it was the beginning of my time going to the movies for more than whatever family oriented-action blockbuster was coming out on any given weekend.
Seeing La La Land and Moonlight at Maiden Alley Cinema were formative experiences which sparked an interest in seeing new movies at the theater as often as I could.
I remembered this movie quite fondly, tuning out a lot of contrarian bullshit about how it is one of the most overrated projects of the last decade. Revisiting it today after over five years, my opinion remains that it is a completely magical and spectacular experience.
